In the spirit of Recreational Soccer all players are required to play a minimum of 50% of the game no matter what level of experience they have. This is a fundamental piece of our player development objectives. All coaches within the Fall program are expected to respect and implement this philosophy.
The Fall Coach
- Each team should have a head coach and the option of the maximum of two assistant coaches.
- The Head coach and or Assistant coach should be at practices and every game.
- The Head coach and or Assistant coach(s) should meet and discuss goals and objectives for the team.
- We strongly recommend that coaches seek training from within the program or consider taking a Mass Youth Soccer Association youth-coach license course.
Fall Player Expectations
- Bring a ball to practice.
- Get to practice on time.
- Inform coach if you cannot attend practice or a game.
- Be courteous to referees, your teammates and opponents.
- Make sure you are properly equipped with appropriate footwear, socks, shin guards, shorts and jersey.
- Maintain a positive constructive and supportive attitude towards all teammates, no matter what their ability.
Parent Expectations
- Make sure the player arrives at practices and games on time.
- Ensure player is properly equipped with appropriate footwear, socks, shin guards, shorts, and jersey
- Attend games whenever possible-and to support your player and team.
- Support the coach wherever possible -bring water, oranges.
- Inform coach if player cannot attend practice or game.
- Support and encourage your child and the team.
- Be enthusiastic not critical.
- Acknowledge the opposition's good plays.
- Be sociable with the opposing team's parents.
- Support and not criticize the referee.
- Support and not criticize the coach.
- Be positive and not let winning and losing change your attitude.
